Back to newsResidential Trips: Building Confidence, Resilience and Memories
Posted on: 13th Jul 2026
This year, we offered three fantastic residential trips, giving students the opportunity to build confidence, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories. Our Year 11 leavers enjoyed a very special residential at West Lexham, where they stayed in an incredible treehouse, making their final weeks at school even more memorable. During their stay, students took part in a wide range of exciting activities including go-karting, swimming, paddle boarding and a visit to the seaside, where they enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation and fun together. It was a wonderful way for them to celebrate the end of their school journey while spending quality time with friends and staff.
Our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 wellbeing residentials were held at the beautiful Willow Grove Farm, providing a peaceful setting alongside plenty of adventurous activities. Students challenged themselves with airsoft, Segway riding, laser tag and a giant team board game, all of which encouraged teamwork, communication and resilience. They also made full use of the private swimming pool, which was a particular highlight, especially with the fantastic weather we were lucky enough to enjoy throughout each trip.
Evenings were spent cooking together on the BBQ, enjoying delicious food and relaxing around the campfire, where everyone shared stories, laughter and plenty of toasted marshmallows. These quieter moments were just as valuable as the activities, helping students build stronger relationships and develop their confidence in a supportive environment.
Throughout all three residentials, the students represented the school exceptionally well. Their behaviour, manners and willingness to encourage one another were outstanding, and they received many compliments from activity providers and members of the public. We are incredibly proud of how each student embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, positivity and respect. The wellbeing residentials were a huge success and provided experiences that will be remembered for many years to come. A huge thank you goes to all the staff who gave their time to make these trips possible and to our students for making each residential such an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
